Would this be a good book for a grad student interested in Polyvagal and EMDR? Or would this be a better read after one has more base knowledge in both? Thanks!

Watched this 2 months ago and had to rewatch this again. Even though she feels too smart for you at the beginning, she is talking about a way to heal a world that runs on headlines and social media photos. Normative statistics suck !! No lies came out of her mouth and people need to hear this, especially authoritarians.

Great podcast guys. Love the stuff about knowing your history regarding past scholars, the humanitarian and transpersonal roots of coaching, and the assumptions that we make about our coachees. I’m providing organizational coaching at a behavioral health agency and this was a great resource. Are you guys familiar with peer support? We employ a lot of them and it’s another modern, humanitarian variation on coaching which emphasizes a more personal connection than most professional roles in the field. Thanks again for the great episode! - Travis

We need more therapists who are educated in coercive control. Also need more therapists who believe you and are willing to stand up for you and NOT minimize what coercive controllers do!!!

This is a Rupert Sheldrake moment. I will explain. My father was a genius doctor, one of the founders of physical medicine and rehabilitation. He never talked about his work. 30 years after I finished medical school I had recall of med school that was and is incredibly high…for an integrative psychiatrist. I think I absorbed a ton of info from my father. Possibly Seth Porges absorbed in the same way. Sheldrake called this morphic resonance.

She appears to state the obvious, over and over. And what’s all her nonsense about ‘I’m a nerd because I love science.’ News flash- you’re a psychologist. Yes, you are quite expected to apply the scientific findings of your field and integrate them with findings from related fields. This generation is something else 😂

From 41:45, about the two surgeons who are marriage mates: You mean, a typical male, if high-status enough, might tend to ‘disclose and demand’ more support from his co-workers? Telling your workmates “YOU need to shape up because I’m working too hard on the boring details” seems kind of imperious.

22:10 I definitely grabbed hold to what you were doing and it's been pretty helpful. I have so much I need to find to help me put it into a better place or category. Agreeably knowing every single single individual reacts or supports themselves in different situations and emotions and circumstances also adding the time frame really effects things. I am coming from a very unusual place that I just can't quit apply myself in to getting the answers or attaching it from what science has discovered. But please produce more of this content so I'll have a constant directive to figuring things out and implement more to the healing process.
